cryptic counting

Enjoy lovelies and sorry for the delay in posts! It makes me feel terrible! :(

also cryptic

Recently I haven't posted simply for the fact that I may be tempted to splurge on what's been going on with me lately! All I am willing to divulge at this very moment is that I am very much excited and want to give a big "Thank You," to Noelle!

Cryptic counting:
~purchased 6 books for 6 dollars (gotta love Goodwill VS. Corporate stores when it comes to a bargain)
~been on the phone with 3 different establishments
~been on hold for 33 minutes exactly and counting
~Told exactly 2 people
~X number of days to go

Revelation:
It was late, the sun had long been hidden and the stagnant humid air was finally dissipated and replaced by a cool gentle breeze, The smell of rain and grass filled my nostrils and I nuzzled into the place only known by those who've ever been in love as the shoulder pit, The perfect spot where your head rests between his neck and his shoulder, not exactly on his chests, not exactly not. Your head encased in that cocoon of comfort- ability and safety. As suddenly as a shooting star should pass he broke the silence and asked that I secure some proof, I was sure this was a tediously daunting task, suspecting I already knew the answer to said exploration. I rummaged my way out of the calmness, his steadily beating heart reminded me of a metronome, keeping constant time with mine. I shuffled a bit, making almost a face of distaste although not feeling remotely in that manner, Perhaps because of  a subconscious tick reminding me that I was enduring a sleep deprived state of mind. My toes felt the cold tile and instantly my humid, warm feet created a perfect outline of steps as if I was being careful to know which way I had come from. A thought I would find strangely symbolic moments later. When the truth was revealed after what seemed like an eternity in the Sarlacc  pit, I was surprised more than words could ever express. The sudden realization caused a health conscious revelation. Also, a looming sense of fear for I am not one who is usually optimistic by nature!

According to Facebook...

Yesterday Erik and I celebrated our one month anniversary! Although the time seems so miniscule I spose' it's because we were exclusive for almost 3 months before we made it official! (due to my dumb insecurities at the time) LOL So really it's more like a four month-aversary :D Regardless, I am so happy to be with Erik, he is just the sweetest man I have ever met and has the kindest heart! I've finally met my match in the big blue eye department! I love you Archimedes!

Also, Erik and I decided to move in together! We are just so darn twitterpated it's ridiculous! We already have a wish list at Pier 1, Bed Bath & Beyond, and World Market :D  Have a great day to all my readers. More of my writing coming up briefly!

Cakes and Candles

Yesterday was my older sister Amanda's 25th birthday! Erik and I drove to Yoder and we celebrated with the family! It was lovely <3 We had delicious vanilla cake with my mom's homemade cream cheese frosting and Caitlin and I arranged the 25 candles in a heart :D I decorated and added embellishments to a picture frame mat and added a cute clothes line out of hemp to the center wear I hung a picture of me and my sisters from Amanda's college graduation earlier this May! Then, I had it framed! It turned out darling!
You can tell we changed ides's half way through from the excess candle holes! lol Our heart is also lopsided :D
The picture is hanging lopsided in this picture, I promise it's the angle :D

Busy Busy Busy

These past few days have been extremely busy! I got a new tattoo, went garage sale hunting with my mom, celebrated fathers day AND had a girls day at the Aquarium in Denver! It has been crazy :D I am also preparing to move on the first so I've been crazy packing and organizing boxes, boxes and more boxes!
Okay, so I've been good busy but busy nonetheless!

Father's Day started with Erik and I's trip to Yoder!
We stopped at the ONLY gas station (Fuel B's) and stocked up :)
Once we got to my parents house my dad showed us around his new green house! My dad has quite the green thumb I might add! Then we chowed down on steaks from the grill, played with the dogs, took pictures and later watched a movie as a family :)
my daddy's green house :)
I have always been a "daddy's girl," for as long as I can possibly remember! I was always the tomboy and loved watching Tales From The Crypt with my dad late at night and eating junk food. As I got older and was more rebellious he always sought to see my view on things even when others did not! Now that I am officially grown he still is always there for me, makes me laugh and continues to teach me things! I love you so much Daddy!
my daddy grillin'

Beside the Father's Day festivities I also scored an awesome record player, a board for my new kitchen and a sweet 500 page coffee table book on the ancient Egyptians while garage sale hunting with my mom :)
Today, I went to the Denver Aquarium with my mom and sister. It was a lot of fun!
heh creepiest face EVER!!!
All in all it has been a wonderful last few days :D

double date!

This lovely evening Erik and I, my sister Caitlin and her boyfriend Tyler had an adventurous double date :)
We hiked the beautiful Colorado mountains and cooked hot dogs over an open fire! It was a whole heck of a lot of fun! Then we headed home! I'm seeing some cuddle time in the very near future :)
(and yes the occasion called for no makeup :))

Splendid Monday

This Monday my mom and two sisters surprised me with a girls day! We got up early and ate lunch at this quaint little cafe style restaurant called Bon Tons in Old Colorado City. We gossiped like girls, ate delicious sandwich melts, and enjoyed each others company! We talked about how my dad is starting to go a little googly eyed for babies :) (perhaps grandchildren in the near future), what my plans are for moving into my own apartment again in about a month (love my roomies but miss my own space) and in general just talked about all things girly! It was a fantastic change from my ever present male testosterone filled townhouse :)

cute little newspaper style menu

The Best turkey and cheese avocado melt EVER!

After lunch we shopped around all the little stores together and picked out some gifts for my Aunt for her Birthday. We also decided to go to Puttin' On The Paint next weekend and paint something for my dad for Father's Day :) My Mommy also bought us some tiny little hand decorated gifts that look like they're straight from Etsy! It was Splendid!
My little sister Caitlin, my mommy and my older sister Amanda!
horrible picture of me bleh!

Caitlin acting like a dork :)

After all the shopping and talking we went to my Aunt Marie's birthday party! :D
THE cutest, most delicious vegan cake made at Whole Foods by my friend Spencer :)
My adorable cousin Lydia
My adorable family :) :)
After all the excitement we all went to Starbucks...mmmm green tea :)
Overall it was a most joyous day! I hope yours was great as well :)

Belated Intro

<----Well as I'm sure you all know from my "About Me" in the sidebar :)
My name is Brittany, and I plan to share my "words of wisdom with you"...okay, not really at all actually! My only plan thus far is to write. If I just happen to stumble across some wisdom then well, that's just peachy. To tell you the truth writing is the one thing that always let me escape when I had nothing or no one to turn to. I could open that ratty old spiraled notebook, fumble for any sort of writing utensil and as soon as that ink hit the paper I was free. I suspect most pre-pubescent and hormonal teenage girls have a "diary." Now I am no different nor am I original in that aspect. I too had a diary and wrote in it everyday. Frivolous entries regarding boys, and my parents and all the problems that are surely to come with the dramas you only face in middle school and high school. After that I retired the old, childish "diary," and moved on up to what we call in grown up land a "journal." Now as far more sophisticated as that title may sound it is simply the same as the latter. Although the dates have changed and the entries use bigger and more colorful vocabulary one thing is certain, writing is still my first love and always will be. So, if you happen to have read through my obnoxiously long intro then I applaud you and hope to also hear from you as well <3
Also, on a side note I obsessively collect owl anything and birdhouses :)
observe newest additions:)

Here is some of my work :)

Obsession
She seemed flawless and perfect. So dainty, like the tiny appendages of glass figurines or the petals of a freshly bloomed flower. I loved her, I hated her, I envied her. Parts of me wanted to rip those petals one by one from their stem the way shingles and rooftops are ripped from structures in a great storm, adding only a cool calculating demeanor to my destruction. Another part of me wanted to watch her, study her, understand her. I wanted to know the exact distance between her eyes, what fantasy replayed in her mind as she masturbated and if her arms swung back and forth as she walked. I wanted raw, unadulterated truth. I wouldn't bother myself with frivolous pleasantries, I'd find these things out. I needed the knowledge like a junkie craving a fix, crazed and half-dead. Oh. how I'd become obsessed with this un-obtainable creature I'd never met. She'd seeped into the deepest inner working of my mind the way dirt settles into ones pores. I guess I should have known it was inevitable. An occurrence even with cautionary prevention still occurred and I was still under her hypnosis.

KISS
I have been kissed in a dirty bathroom,
my lower back thrust against the dingy sink the way his lips pressed against
mine. the only difference being that his lips were not tainted with toothpaste stains and facial hair but a hurried tense suspicion of guilt and excitement rushed into a nano second.I have been kissed on a leather couch. the sun damaged cushions all cracked and shriveled. the combination of sweat and that damn leather become a paste that binds me to the couch. the only escape is a thin layer of skin being ripped from the back of my thighs as I stand. The easy way out compared to kissing that foul, stuttering mouth one more second. The humid combination of plaque and his last meal lingered on my lips and I felt ill.
I have been kissed in a car. The awkward body language and anticipation of a first kiss was nothing compared to the seat belt strap still buckled at my hip ripping into my shoulder as we leaned toward one another to bridge the gap between knowing each other and "really knowing each other." his lips were forgettable now that I think of it and the searing pain of the seat belt rash on my neck and shoulder is now far more memorable in my mind then the kiss itself.
I have been kissed on a strangers bed. a talk about our significant others led to a connection which led to the upstairs where we found said bed. the passion was thick and my attraction to him was animal-istic. we ripped each others clothes off in a drunken madness before the kiss had even occurred. not my most proud moment. the kiss in itself was memorable but what was even more memorable was a secret I had almost forgotten and thanks to the sudden realization of what may have been lingering in said boys pants the kiss is as far as that boy got.

Also, a video just because I love my dog :) Do you think he likes Erik's dog Finnie much? :)
He's pretty much the love of my life! lol

What's new

I've decided to post at least once a week some of the upcoming, (as well as downright fantastic) in news, events and releases' in cinema, literature, music, fashion, art and pop culture that I'm interested in! Take a peak :)

First off is a delightful book by Kathryn Stockett called The Help, that I am extremely overjoyed to mention is becoming  a major motion picture being released August 12th 2011 :D (The book is literary magic by the way) This motion picture is also starring one of my new favorite actress' Emma Stone! If you love era based movie's as well as movie's that truly show the strength of the human spirit and perseverance you will LOVE this movie!

Emma Stone :)
Also coming out later this year is The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1!
This movie needs no explanation! If you haven't heard of this movie or the lovely books by Stephanie Meyers you need to crawl out from under your rock :) And yes among the million of other crazed fans out there I too LOVE LOVE LOVE Twilight and replayed the sneak peek trailer played on the MTV Movie Awards about a dozen times:)  If you've read all the books like I have...(and yes, I read them before the movie's came out) then the only real question will be how it is going to be rated...hmmmmm... Nuff said...you can enjoy this movie November 18th 2011:)
For more info on the upcoming movie :D :D tee hee check it out --->http://elbertreyner.blogspot.com/2010/11/breaking-dawn-first-look.html

-----------------------
Once upon a time there was a girl who was special. This is not her story. Unless you count the part where I killed her.

Sixteen-year-old Alison has been sectioned in a mental institute for teens, having murdered the most perfect and popular girl at school. But the case is a mystery: no body has been found, and Alison's condition is proving difficult to diagnose. Alison herself can't explain what happened: one minute she was fighting with Tori -- the next she disintegrated. Into nothing. But that's impossible. Right?

This book released June 2nd 2011 I can't tell you a whole lot about, except that if you also have a morbid curiosity this book may be for us :D Hitting up the Barnes & Noble tomorrow :) I'll keep you updated on my opinions and thoughts on the book as I read :)
 tah tah for now :)

My ridiculously extensive blog entry

we had the most beautiful sunset this Wednesday!
Lately, I have had so many ridiculously fun dates with Erik and spent a lot of time at his mom Shana's barbecuing and and letting our dogs play together! I have not only been blessed with Erik in my life but his great family as well!

On top of the awesome barbecuing Erik and I had a mini date tonight as well! Observe :)
It started with a kiss...
Then we played arcade games and five dollars later won the smallest duck in existence!
After that we vegged out on the porch and talked...it was blissful!

Now, to totally go off on a different tangent I thought I would showcase some of my art as well as collections :)

my attempt to paint along with Bob Ross

(canvas painting)"Let me revive you"
My new owls from my best friend Cade and Shana as well as this awesome bike Erik and I found at a second hand store :)
If you made it this far thank you for being curious and have a marvelous day!!!

Randomly Coincidental

Randomly I was inspired by my new found love life (smile from ear to ear) to write something that could convey how beautiful life has become for me lately. Then, coincidentally I found the beginning of the above insert that I had written when I was still in high school. It just showed me how much angst I was feeling at the time and it made me appreciate even more how lucky I am to have such an amazing man in my life. But, being the OCD person that I am I thought it would be neat to finish the writing! I hope you enjoy!

I over-do the flowers pics :)

I long for a place far more beautiful than this desolate world has to offer,

I wait in anticipation for the day when chivalry will once more take that glorious breath of life,
A place void of "Ultra Violence,"
A place so euphoric in all it's rustic wonders you lose yourself in spaces and places engulfed in foliage,
Perfectly painted and pristine,
To be as alive as Idgy, where being blissfully ignorant is no longer considered being socially inept rather, a sought after quirk,
Sometimes the deafening sound of modern cliches, un-originality and the incessant need to conform can only be compared to the ear shattering screech of a heavy box being drug across a dingy surface,
Distorted by our flickering color boxes and channel changers we become un-seasoned...zest-less, leaving even Satan in distaste for our souls.

Everybody has a story

Everybody has a story, better yet absolutely everybody has a secret. It does not matter the scale of which the secret is measured. There is no way in which to decide the level of obscurity or priority one secret has over another. A secret simply is. It is yours to hold on to or to let go of. We have them for a number of reasons, shame, embarrassment, guilt, envy, security and many more. Not all secrets are detrimental or life altering some are simply...more light hearted than others! For example, I absolutely think it is the creepiest thing ever when the microwave says "Enjoy" when the time is up. Couldn't explain why except that it makes me think of some evil, overlord, robot, woman, thingy that just cooked my food in her own body cavity.
Yes, I did take the time to alter this picture to apply to my above secret :)
Some secrets are much, much more deep and personal than an irrational fear/dislike of microwave text. Some secrets you simply stumble upon. For example, I had mentioned this once before in my previous blog but never really went into detail about it. While trying to find hidden treasures at a second hand store one day I stumbled across a journal, and being the compulsive freak that I am about collecting journals (even if I already have four at home) I bought it! (by the way 50 cents was a steal) I flipped through it at the store as well as when I got home but what I didn't notice until a few days later was that there was a single entry in the entire book. What makes this entry so intriguing is that it has such honesty to it. It is not at all grammatically correct and you can tell the writer was young which makes it that much more beautiful. I assume said persons journal was probably shuffled to the "Donate" box on accident, but I like to think that it came to me on purpose!
I will forever keep that entry in my journal!
Actual entry
If you are as enthralled as myself with a sneak peek into others lives even for the slightest of moments then I suggest PostSecret to you. It is a marvelous series of books. Starting out as a controlled social project and developing into a massive worldwide phenomenon people anonymously tell the world their most inner, personal, sad, and a lot of the time funny secrets. No matter the secret you are always drawn in and always left wanting more! (let me warn you they are not cheap but well worth it) They also have a website as well although the books make me feel much more connected to the writer.
http://postsecretarchive.com/
P.S.
I can't tell you how many times I've read my darkest secret from others in that book...it's good to know you are not the only one with the burden of carrying your secret.
